For example, we represented a worker involved in the demolition of an office. The worker was electrocuted because the general contractor neglected to shut the power off to the electric lines that he was told to cut. When the worker cut the lines, he cut into live wires. Needless to say, he was seriously injured. Although he was entitled to workers compensation, he was also entitled to file a claim against the general contractor that failed to ensure that the electric lines were shut off before demolition began. Our office filed an action for this injured worker and obtained a substantial recovery for him.
